coverd bridge, cedarburg

8" x 10", oil on linen.

I'm sad to say that this is the last of the Cedarburg paintings. We had such a good, if too short, time participating in the plein air event. I look forward both to returning to Cedarburg, and participating in more of these pleing air events. I had no idea what to expect from this type of competition, and I found it invigorating and challenging and a wonderful way to paint in an area I might not have ever gotten to.
Of course go check out Susan's Covered Bridge Park painting too.

Once again Karen I am learning something from you. Your soft edges and tonal change gives dimension. It's wonderful to experience plein air with a friend like Susan. She is now on my blog. I think both of you ladies are very talented.

Also, your composition is interesting, it allows the viewer to walk into the picture. Great job.m

Masterfully portrayed, Karen. Your covered bridge has wonderful light and form - not easy to show when it's simply a long expanse. Yes, you and Susan should make Cedarburg an annual event!

What beautiful soft glowing greens you have here Karen! I love the contrast between the cool (near) distant greens and the warm, mud bottomed creek. Glad to hear you had a wonderful, invigorating painting adventure.

I don't know which I enjoy the most-the wonderful paintings or the stories that go behind them. Either way it is a highlight for me to see what you are working on, and absolutely inspiring.

Every stokes conveys the beauty of not just the day but also the quiet majesty of this old covered bridge

Hi Joan, Thanks so much! And it's my pleasure to add your link!

Thanks Janelle! Surprisingly it was that big expanse that caught my eye...in the midst of all that green it really stood out to me. I tried to let the color and value change as they moved across the surface.

Hi Loriann, thanks! Yikes! That sure was a lot of green! :)

Hi Carolina, thanks so much for your kind words. It's humbling to think that I might be an inspiration.

Hi Beverly, thanks! It was a great adventure. Painting somewhere new is always so great.
Hope your editing is going well.

Hi Susan, Thank you! quiet majesty, what a great way to describe that bridge.
